The term computer security defines principles of securing the computer and there are three core principles that are given below:
Computer Security Principles:
Confidentiality:
It means that only authorized peoples or system management can access sensitive information thus , protecting it from unauthorized-access
Example: Encrypting personal data so only the valid member or the authorized person can read it.
Integrity:
It meas that information remains accurate and unchanged by unauthorized users or malicious or virus-like softwares
Example: Ensures security by practicing check-sums,testing or hash functions to verify that data hasn’t been changed with during transmission.
Availability:
Ensures that data and systems are accessible to authorized users when needed, and protected from interruptionss or attacks.
Example: Using redundant systems or backup servers to ensure that critical applications remain accessible during a hardware failure
Conclusion:
These three terms confidentiality, integrity and availability are most important in computer security. These terms are the base for the computer security. It helps us to remain secure from cyberthreats and cyberattacks. Also learn about cyber attack index.
